The City of Montréal announces the holding of a competition for professional visual artists, for the design and creation of a work of public art that will be installed in a small square at the intersection of Laurier Avenue West and Côte-Sainte-Catherine Road, in the Outremont borough.
This sculpture will complement the redevelopment project for Laurier Avenue West. Installation of the artwork is planned for spring 2020.

The production budget for the artwork is $300,000 before taxes. A selection jury will choose four finalists, who will be invited to present a proposal. Each finalist will receive $5,500 to prepare his or her proposal.
The competition is open to professional artists who are Canadian citizens or have landed immigrant status and have lived in Québec for at least one year.
Eligible artists are invited to respond to the notice of competition by November 19, 2018 at noon to the following address: isabelle.riendeau@ville.montreal.qc.ca. The subject line should be: “Competition for a work of public art – Laurier – CSC.”
