Next fall, La Velocité des lieux, the largest public artwork in Montréal, a large fixed wheel 60 feet tall designed by the contemporary art trio BGL (Jasmin Bilodeau, Sébastien Giguère, Nicolas Laverdière), will be inaugurated.
The artists, who represented Canada at the 56th Venice Biennale with the work Canadassimo, are working on the monumental work which will integrate the new crossroads at Henri-Bourassa and Pie-IX, in the borough of Montréal-Nord.
La Vélocité des lieux will finalize an extensive urban redevelopment project that emanates from the desire to replace aging infrastructure in a real city entrance – planning on a human scale for public transit and sustainable economic development.
