The photographic work Lac/Fontaine is affixed to a steel structure that was already standing in the park landscaped in 1996, adjacent to the main entrance to Bibliothèque Mordecai-Richler. The work is in a space that is both green and urban.

A montage of three photographs is deployed horizontally. A lake landscape occupies most of the work. The horizon created by the reflection of the mountain in the lake defines the two other photographs that are superimposed. In the image in the upper portion, a woman sits on the ground, leaning against a huge wood wall, and gazes at the landscape. The final photograph shows a concrete fountain from which a water jet sprays.

The landscape appears as if it is a daydream in which the protagonist is lost, apparently in a meditative state. The lake water seems to flow through the fountain and pour out of frame, whence the title Lac/Fontaine. The work is from the Déplacements series, in which the artist explores the contrast between urban landscape and nature and the relationship between the individual and the environment.
