Ludovic Boney
Nouvelle séquence
2023
Presentation of the artwork
Situated in the gardens of the Robert and Bélanger families’ farmhouse, Nouvelle séquence is composed of coffers that seem to emerge from the ground, rise, and then turn to return to earth. The ensemble is gradually extends, in both volume and colour, in the space. With this sculptural gesture, Ludovic Boney evokes both the site’s evolution and its permanence: he conveys the current cultural and educational vocation of Maison Robert-Bélanger as well as the agricultural and rural past of the heritage site. By the rhythmic organization of its forms, the artwork reminds us of the past and the future.Playful and mysterious, Nouvelle séquence invites us to find connections between the history of the site and its contemporary craftmanship, thus opening perspectives in our imagination.
